Towns and regions commit

to stop sexual violence against children

Available data suggest that about one child in five in Europe is a victim of some form of sexual violence, one of the worst forms of violence against children.

To mobilise municipal and regional authorities, the Congress has launched a Pact of Towns and Regions to Stop Sexual Violence against Children.

The Pact comprises a list of initiatives and policies to be implemented – from simple, cost effective actions to comprehensive strategies.

The Pact aims to: Prevent abuse, Protect victims, Prosecute perpetrators while ensuring the full Participation of children in the whole process.
