Municipality of New Propontida

The Municipality of Propontida is located at the western edge of Halkidiki, in contact with the Prefecture of Thessaloniki. The Municipality has 23 Municipal, Local Communities and Settlements. It stretches from Lakkoma to N. Potidea, has an area of ??about 400 km acres and 60 km coastline. It is the largest population of Halkidiki. Its geographical boundaries include the Petralona Cave, the wetland of Ag. Mama (Natura area), as well as the Lakkoma Industrial Area (around 50 enterprises), the marina and port of N. Moudania and the two fishing shelters of N. Kallikratia and N. Plagia. The Real or De Facto population of the Municipality is 37,534 inhabitants.
It includes the urban area of ??N. Moudania (capital city of the Municipality), the peri-urban areas of N. Kallikratia and N. Triglia and several rural areas. N. Moudania is the largest shopping center in Halkidiki, as well as the seat of several public services.
