Observatory for the Defence of the Rights of Women and Children

We aim at being an organization who is involved in the maintaining and the reinforcing of fundamental Human Rights because these rights are the inherent condition for a democratic society and for individual and collective blooming of every man and woman.

We are aware that equality and freedom can be restrained, not only by law and legal interpretation but also by material conditions going from social and state organization to technical development. In order for those fundamental rights not to lose their consistency, they have to be continually developed, reformulated, and claimed.

Statistics reveal that in Switzerland, one woman in five regardless of  ethnicity, age and social group, has been at least once in her life a victim of physical or sexual violence. Two women in five are victims of psychological violence. Such statistics are enough to prove the necessity to prevent this violence to stop it.
